The level of care given to my mother during her time at The Lawns Nursing Home was outstanding. It was evident that Sam's team goes above and beyond to ensure the physical and emotional wellbeing of the residents, fostering a warm and nurturing environment. The love and kindness shown by the staff are truly heartwarming. Their genuine affection and patience create a sense of family and community within the nursing home, treating each resident as if they were their own family member, providing not only physical care but also emotional support. I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude to each member of your team for their dedication, professionalism, and positive attitude while looking after my mother. Their tireless efforts and unwavering commitment make a significant impact on the lives of all the residents and their families.

Auntie passed away peacefully in the Lawns and I cannot allow her end to pass without writing to express my sincere gratitude to you and your wonderful team. Since the very first day your staff, whatever their role, were so welcoming, polite, and friendly. Nothing was ever a trouble to them whether they were giving personal care, serving tea, taking meal requests, cleaning or were clerical, without exception they had time. Our two and a half years in the Lawns has shown the best example possible of care in the latter years of human life. A delivery of care that was polite, respectful, personal and of a standard that was higher than I could have ever dared hope for. […] The Lawns Nursing home is indeed a credit to Wells House Limited and is a 'Jewel in the crown' in the provision of care for the elderly in South Devon.

To Matron & all the staff I would like to say on behalf of Gerald & myself, we would like you to know how much we appreciate the professional understanding & patient care during the time my dear Mum was with you, it was a great comfort to have her so well cared for during her last few weeks. I am so so grateful to the wonderful team at The Lawns. My husband lived with them for the last 12 months of his life. He had Parkinsons and Dementia. They made it his 'home' from the very start, getting to know him, finding out his likes and his dislikes in terms of food, activities, hobbies, passions in life etc. They took a very personal interest in him and always went out of their way to go above and beyond to make him happy and feel secure. Staff members treated him as part of the family and they treated our family the same too. They became my friends too and it was always a pleasure to visit. As his condition deteriorated and he became more challenging, their professionalism, kindness and compassion towards him was amazing. Sam, Lucie and the wonderful team gave him the best care ever. A number of medical practitioners I dealt with over the last few months told me that they regularly heard great things about the Lawns and I was lucky he was there. I highly recommend the Lawns.

My mother was in The Lawns for over 3 years and initially found it very hard to settle in and accept that she needed their care. The staff were caring and thoughtful in the way they tried to help her to settle in. I noticed that the new management are improving the ethos and atmosphere in the home and are also improving the surroundings. In her last months all the staff showed an excellent level of professional nursing & thoughtful and compassionate care to help her feel reassured, respected and listened to. The management were supportive, helpful and understanding when I needed help or information about her needs and her end of life care.

I cannot praise the staff highly enough for the care and compassion shown to my husband who was under their care for two years until his passing in January of this year. Having Dementia made him suffer from anxiety and at times he could be a little aggressive, however their professionalism and experience supported him to feel safe and cared for. The staff took the time to really get to know him and his needs and thus were able to meet them. It was one of the hardest things having to admit that I could not longer care for my husband at home and at first, if I am honest, it did feel difficult watching others care for the man I loved so much. However, I learnt that their professionalism, experience and abundance of compassion was what he needed. The staff were also very kind to myself and my sons as the illness progressed and were very supportive of the next stages that we witnessed as the illness progressed. I would have not hesitation in recommending The Lawns,

My Mum passed her final weeks in this home in 2019. We could not have hoped for a better, more caring place for her to be when she could no longer be any home. The staff were caring and friendly, the food was cooked to order and adjusted to my Mums taste when she lost her appetite, and the place was welcoming to visitors.

To all staff and carers and employees of The Lawns, I would like to thank you all for the good care and companionship and professionalism that each and everyone of you has contributed into making Mums stay here safe secure and welcoming in your superb facilities. I know Mum enjoyed her time here too and would and did appreciate every one of you with a smile and gratitude thats heartfelt. Thanks again everybody.
